Can Google Search Console track my social media posts?

The short answer

Yes. In July 2026, Google added platform properties to Search Console. You can connect Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube accounts and see which Google searches lead people to your posts, along with clicks and impressions. It shows Google performance only, not likes or views inside each app.

Why it's useful

Your social posts may already be showing up in Google. Now your search and social efforts can share the same data, so you can see which topics people are actually searching for.

How to set it up

  • Open Google Search Console
  • Choose Add property
  • Pick Instagram, TikTok, X, or YouTube
  • Follow the steps to connect your account

Turn the data into content

Each week, find the search term that's growing fastest for your posts. Create one more piece of content that answers it, on your website, your social channels, or both.

Know the limits

This data covers Google Search and Discover. Engagement inside each app still lives in that app's own analytics.

The bottom line

Connect your social accounts to Search Console, then let real search demand shape what you post next.
