My campaign launched. Doesn't that mean it's done?

The short answer

Launching is a milestone, not a finish line. A campaign that ran and underperformed is an open problem, not completed work. Decide what “done” looks like as an outcome before you launch, then put a date on the calendar to check against it and adjust.

Why this happens to good teams

There's real satisfaction in shipping. Budget set, audience picked, copy written, button pushed. It feels finished, so it gets checked off and everyone moves to the next thing. Nobody decided to stop caring about the result. It just quietly stopped being anyone's job.

Define done before you launch

Write down the outcome that counts, in numbers you can actually see:

  • Form fills, calls, or booked jobs, not impressions
  • A target worth hitting and a floor worth worrying about
  • The date you'll look, on the calendar, before launch day

Then go back and look

Most campaigns don't need to be scrapped. They need one honest look and a small correction: a different audience, a stronger offer, a landing page that matches the ad. That only happens if someone opens the report.

The bottom line

A campaign that ran and didn't work isn't a finished task. It's your money sitting in an open problem, waiting for someone to come back to it.
